Nursing Staff

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

  • Jane Purdy

Jane has experience in dealing with minor ailments as well as chronic conditions. She has diplomas in and a special interest in Asthma and COPD as well as Diabetes. Jane is able to prescribe for these conditions since qualifying as a nurse prescriber in 2005. Jane has recently gained her ARTP certificate which allows her to perform spirometry tests, these tests will help to diagnose certain respiratory conditions.

Specialist Nurse Practitioner

  • Georgina Matthews

Georgina is our specialist nurse practitioner. She is a qualified prescriber who can treat patients with minor illness and chronic conditions such as, asthma, COPD and has a special interest in diabetes. Georgina has experience in women’s health and can advise on contraception and sexual health. Georgina has been trained I all aspects of practice nursing including wound and dressing management.

Nurse practitioner

  • Val Hardy

Val has special experience in women’s health and works closely with the doctors to provide advice on contraception, sexual health and the menopause. Val is trained to perform routine cervical smears and provide advice on breast self examination.

She also provides detailed travel health advice and is trained to administer all travel vaccines required by the patient.

Practice Nurse

  • Lisa Rolfe

Lisa is a practice nurse trained to perform routine cervical smears and provide advice on breast self examination. She assists the doctors in providing minor illness appointments. She also provides detailed travel health advice and is trained to administer all travel vaccines required by the patient.

Healthcare Assistants

  • Kay Mardling

Kay is our healthcare assistant, she supports the practice nurses with their daily work and carries out tasks such as, blood pressure measurement, new patient checks, ECGs, Health checks, diabetic foot checks, and vaccinations. Kay also runs phlebotomy clinic for the surgery on a Tuesday morning. Kay may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
