Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
Sister Val Hardy (f)

Sister Hardy has special experience in womens health and works closely with the doctors to provide advice on contraception, sexual health and the menopause. Sister Hardy is trained to perform routine cervical smears and provide advice on breast self examination.

Sister Hardy also provides detailed travel health advice and is trained to administer all travel vaccines required by the patient.

Sister Jane Purdy (f)

Sister Purdy has special experience in womens health and works closely with the doctors to provide advice on contraception, sexual health and the menopause. Sister Purdy is also trained to perform routine cervical smears and provide advice on breast self examination.

Sister Purdy also provides detailed travel health advice and is trained to administer the travel vaccines required by patients.

Sister Purdy has a special interest in Asthma, Minor Illness and Diabetes and runs special clinics for these problems.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as, blood pressure measurement, new patient checks, ECG's. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
